CSI Project, Large Scale Containment & Power Supplies Nationwide For Mitie (Principal Contractor)

Background

The CSI project is a large scale nationwide project for Mitie (Principal Contractor) to upgrade the security & fire systems in all DWP buildings across the UK. Each project is different due to the structure and the make up of the buildings this presents unique challenges and complexities. ConneX Electrical have been successful in overseeing the completion of more than 20 sites, our team has assumed the role of project manager/site supervisor for the vast majority of these projects, demonstrating our commitment to leadership and excellence in execution.

Project

The project consisted of over 600 job centres nationwide and our electrical contractors have completed 20+ of the sites to date on the ongoing project. We have been responsible for around 5% of the total completed sites across the UK, with the project still on going we look forward to finishing the project strongly and increasing these numbers.

Delivery

ConneX Electrical have been successful in overseeing the completion of 20+ sites, our team has assumed the role of project manager/site supervisor for the vast majority of these projects,
demonstrating our commitment to leadership and excellence in execution. We are responsible for the completion of all containment works, power supplies & fire alarm alterations. To minimise disruption to daily operations, our experienced commercial electricians have been working out of usual working hours, from 5pm-4am. Capitalising on the closure of DWP buildings in order to deliver the project, smoothly with minimal interference, underscoring our dedication to operational efficiency and client satisfaction.

Ensuring power supplies for all new systems demanded a proactive strategy and thorough assessment of each project. Typically, this involved establishing a new submain through Steel Wire Armoured (SWA) cabling from either a panel board or an existing distribution board (DB) to a new DB located inside the communications room. From there, conduit was routed to various
locations throughout the building to facilitate the installation of the required new power supplies. Our scope of work encompasses a wide range of containment solutions, spanning from 100mm-600mm suspended wire basket, various conduit systems including 20mm & 25mm Galvanised & PVC conduit,100m-600mm Perforated Tray suspended via UNISTRUT Brackets & 150mmx150mm Galvanised trunking systems to house the main comms room cable containment. Adherence to stringent fire regulations is non-negotiable, with all containment installations meticulously aligned with regulatory standards. Regular audits by health and safety professionals attest to the quality and safety of our work, with consistently positive feedback across all sites serving as a testament to our unwavering commitment to excellence.
