PSL Speke – LED Lighting Upgrade – Decarbonisation

Introduction –

Powder Systems Limited (PSL) based in Liverpool, Speke is a specialist engineering company in the in pharmaceutical and chemical processing industry. Operating around the clock to deliver machinery for pharmaceutical industry across the globe.

The project –

The project involved designing a new lighting system for the main workshop area & external lighting for the business premises, focusing on a complete LED lighting upgrade. This upgrade is
projected to deliver over 50% savings in ongoing energy costs and significantly reduce the company’s carbon footprint.

The project began with alterations to the existing lighting circuits to accommodate the new design. The existing installation was systematically dismantled, replacing the old 400W SON fittings with 200W High Bay LED fittings sequentially.

We then moved onto the external works where we required specialist access equipment using our IPAF trained operatives we replaces all the high level external lighting for new energy efficient LED lighting.

As PSL operates around the clock, the decarbonisation effects will lead to a substantial reduction in power consumption. On completion, this project has resulted in a significantly lower carbon footprint and provided a more efficient and cost-effective lighting solution across the site.
